Finding quality child care is one of the biggest issues you’ll face as a parent. In essence, you’re looking for a temporary substitute for yourself – someone who will nurture, love, cuddle, play with and care for your child in your stead.
SMCS sponsors two early learning programs, one in Springfield, VT and one in Bellows Falls, VT. Both sites are state-licensed facilities. Open Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., the programs are open to children age six weeks to six years. The staff have degrees in Early Education. The model for the operation is a mix of education and fun.
Take a snapshot of a typical day at our programs and you’ll see children with grins playing stimulating games, reading and sharing, scribbling and giggling, sorting and stacking. You’ll see fun with sand and songs, brushes and books, puzzles and paint, and more. Although it may all look like fun, you’re actually seeing the learning process. Studies have found that children are more likely to retain information learned when they are engaged in an enjoyable and meaningful activity.
