Squeaky Sneakers is a early learning program located at 365 Summer Street at the White Acres building. We are open Monday through Friday, 6:30 am – 5:30 pm, for children ages six weeks to five years. We have capacity for 27 children.

We are divided into four rooms by age range. There is an Infant room (6 wks – 1 yr) with eight infants to two teachers, the Pre-toddler room (1 yr – 2 yrs) with 4 children to one teacher, the Toddler room (2 yrs – 3 yrs) which is 5 children to one teacher, and the Preschool room (3 yrs – 5 yrs) with 10 children to one teacher.

There are times when each program will get together to play or do certain activities and the playground is shared with all age groups.

Infant Room

Many milestones and discoveries happen in this precious first year of life. We work closely with each family to develop a schedule that is best suited for your infant. Teachers will work with your child on each step along the way, be it tummy time, sitting up or crawling. We also have accommodations for mothers who would like to breastfeed.

The first is a busy and exciting year. So much to discover in so little time! Books, painting and independent learning are the focus in this program. Your child is taught to work with others, using their words and actions in a positive manner. There is a separate nap room equipped with cribs, and we work with each family to set the best schedule for their child. Also, as with each age group, there is a refrigerator, microwave and bathroom for diapering.

Play is their work and they are good at their jobs! This is the time of independence and making decisions. Arts and crafts, music, circle time and reading books are all a part of our toddlers’ day. They learn to explore their world and to get along with others. This is also a time of toilet training, and we work with each family on the best approach.

Friendships and inquisitiveness are a big part of a preschooler’s nature. Now is the time they truly learn about social awareness and the world around them. The focus in this room is structure in the morning and free play in the afternoon. The curriculum prepares them for kindergarten in a fun and lighthearted way.
