The Vermont Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (VABVI), a non-profit organization founded in 1926, is the only private agency to offer free training, services and support to visually impaired Vermonters. Each year we serve hundreds of children from birth to age 22 and adults age 55 and over.

VABVI’s specialized staff are also contracted to work with employment-aged adults through the State Department, Vermont Division for the Blind and Visually Impaired (DBVI). VABVI and DBVI also work together on some of the Teen Transition and Intensive Residential Life Experiences (IRLE) programs.

VABVI offices are located in Brattleboro, Montpelier, Rutland and South Burlington, with training rooms in our Montpelier Mini Center to showcase the latest technology in assistive aids for individuals with visual impairment.
